1.How does this technology work?
Smart Ball system is a promising, new and advanced soccer ball that critiques your shooting ability. The ball is extremely unique and has been fitted with a sensor suspended inside that helps you improve your dead-kick technique by providing instant feedback on the power, trajectory, spin, and strike accuracy of your kick. The ball uses Bluetooth sensor technology and a network of receivers around the field to track the balls position at all times. The information from the ball is sent to the referee’s watch-like device or can be sent to your phone.
2.Where was the technology discovered/invented?
The ball was invented/created by German companies Cairos Technologies and Adidas athletic clothing and Shoe Company. Together they developed the ‘Smart ball’, the latest technology advancement in soccer.

The miCoach Smart Ball improves performance skills immensely in the way it is able to track your passes, penalties and free kicks. To help players correct their mistakes the app includes tutorials and tests recording your progress as you train.
4.Has the technology spread to other parts of the world through sport (i.e. is it used all over the world, in Australia only etc.)?
The technology Smart ball has spread to the US and Europe. The Adidas Company are producing advertisements, videos, pictures etc. and sharing them on social media (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram etc.) in hope to spread the ball worldwide.
5.Give 1 example of when throughout preparation and performance, the technology is used (e.g. in training, recovery, competition, officiating etc.)?
